Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 10, 2026
Audia ("we", "our", "us") operates the Audia mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Text prompts & lyrics — When you create a song, the text prompts, lyrics, and configuration you enter are sent to our server to generate audio.
- Generated audio — Songs you create are stored on our servers so you can access them in your library.
- Screen name (display name) — If you choose to set a custom screen name, that name is stored on our servers and shown on community content in place of your Google name. Screen names are entirely optional and can be removed at any time via Settings.
- Community posts — If you share a song publicly, the song title, audio, cover image, and display name (or screen name if set) are visible to other users.
Information collected via Google Sign-In (optional):
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive the following information from your Google account:
- Email address — Used to identify your account and associate your library and subscription with you.
- Display name — Used as your profile name within the App.
- Google profile picture — Displayed as your avatar in the App.
- Google user ID — A unique identifier used internally to manage your account.
Sign-in is optional for basic use of the App. Signing in enables personalised library sync, subscription management, and community features tied to your account.
Information collected automatically:
- Device identifier — A random ID generated locally on your device for engagement tracking (likes, reports on community posts). For signed-in users, this is linked to your account.
- App preferences — Settings like audio quality, notification preferences, and playback options stored locally on your device.
Information we do NOT collect:
- No phone number or password (authentication is handled entirely by Google).
- No location data or precise geolocation.
- No contacts, photos, or files from your device.
- No advertising IDs or third-party tracking identifiers.
- No payment card details (payments handled by Google Play / Apple App Store).
2. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate your identity and maintain your account when you sign in with Google.
- To generate AI music based on your prompts using third-party AI services.
- To store and serve your generated songs in your personal library.
- To display your screen name (or Google display name) and avatar on community-shared content.
- To process subscription and payment transactions (handled by Google Play / Apple App Store).
- To enforce usage limits (credits, daily caps) associated with your subscription plan.
- To respond to support requests and data deletion requests.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
3. App Permissions (Android)
The Audia app requires the following Android device permissions to function:
- Background Media Playback (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK) — Allows the app to continue playing your generated songs when the app is in the background or your screen is off. This enables you to control playback via the notification panel and lock screen. This permission is required by Android 14+ for all apps that play audio in the background.
- Internet Access (INTERNET) — Required to communicate with our servers for AI music generation, downloading generated songs, authenticating your account, and syncing your library.
- Storage Access (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) — Allows the app to save downloaded songs to your device and read them for offline playback. You control what songs are saved via the download feature in your library.
- Audio Settings (MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS) — Enables the app to adjust playback volume and audio routing (e.g., switching between speaker and headphones) for optimal music playback.
- Vibration (VIBRATE) — Provides haptic feedback (vibration) for button presses and interface interactions, enhancing the user experience.
- Microphone Access (RECORD_AUDIO) — Used only if you choose to record audio input for voice-based song creation features. This permission is not used unless you explicitly activate voice input. Audio recordings are not stored on our servers unless you choose to generate a song from them.
- In-App Purchases (BILLING) — Required to process subscription upgrades and credit pack purchases through Google Play Billing.
Permissions we explicitly do NOT request:
- Screen Recording/Casting (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PROJECTION) — We do not record or cast your screen.
- Camera Access — We do not access your camera.
- Location Services — We do not track your location.
- Contacts Access — We do not access your contacts.
- Phone State/Call Logs — We do not access phone or call information.
- Bluetooth Scanning — We do not scan for Bluetooth devices.
All permissions are used solely for the purposes described above and are not shared with third parties beyond the services listed in Section 4 below.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the App:
- Google Sign-In (Google LLC) — Authentication. When you sign in, Google shares your email, name, and profile picture with us under Google's OAuth 2.0 protocol. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- Replicate (replicate.com) — AI model hosting. Your text prompts are sent to Replicate's API to generate audio. Replicate's privacy policy: replicate.com/privacy
- Google Play / Apple App Store — Subscription billing and payment processing. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
- Render (render.com) — Cloud hosting for our backend server and audio file storage.
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with any other third parties.
4. Data Storage & Retention
- Account data (email, Google display name, screen name, profile picture) is stored on our servers for as long as you have an account.
- Generated audio files are stored on our servers and associated with your account or device ID.
- App preferences and local engagement data are stored on your device using secure on-device storage.
- If you uninstall the app without deleting your account, your server-side data (library, account info) is retained for 90 days then deleted.
5. Your Right to Delete Your Data
You have the right to request deletion of all personal data we hold about you at any time. This includes your account information, generated songs, and any associated data on our servers.

6. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted communications (HTTPS) between the App and our servers, and secure token-based authentication. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App and on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
